Description
The Colonnes Morris, one of the iconic images of Paris, are advertising columns on which theatre, cinema, nightclubs or concert posters are glued. The internal space of the column is in general used for storage of varied materials and tools used for the maintenance of the streets and pavements. They were named after the printer Gabriel Morris who, in 1842, bought the concession so he could sell advertising space. They fit into the streetscape so well and have a long history , they are more than 220 still scattered throughout Paris.
