Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) is a powerful and speedy raptor that hunts medium-sized birds from above in dramatic stoops, estimated to reach speeds exceeding 200 mph. Its wingspan is about 41 inches, and its wings are pointed. The Peregrine is a medium-sized falcon, having a length of about 16-20 inches and a weight of about 1.6 pounds. The peregrine inhabits open wetlands, but nests on cliffs, sometimes on tall buildings or bridges.
After the male Peregrine Falcon exchanged the Eastern Meadowlark prey with its mate, the female launched into flight from the cliff with the prey in its talons at the Olin Nature Preserve in Godfrey, Illinois on 3-13-2022; the female flew to a tree where it consumed the prey. The Preserve includes close to 300 acres overlooking the Mississippi River, atop limestone cliffs, and was dedicated as an Illinois Nature Preserve in 1990. I used a Nikon D850 camera body and a Nikon 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens to capture this image. Settings: 1/2500...
