Description
Steam cooking is very natural and fat free. Food retains more nutrients than conventional methods of cooking that leaches out the food value. Vegetables remain colorful and you fish and other seafood stays moist and flavorful.
The double tiered version will enable you to cook two levels of items at once, and save you valuable time. The multi-tiered versions are popular in restaurants and eateries. I find Char Siu Bow, beans buns and others in many places across the islands. Many dozens are steamed at the same time in these commercial establishments.
The single portion style is perfect for meals alone, or for use for guests at parties to add a personalized touch. For use at home on a smaller scale, fill the steamers with your choice of foods and place in the wok that is filled with water to create steam. Any cooking vessel that can accommodate the steamer will do. You can find the perfect size steamer and wok for your needs in any store that sells Asian cookery and utensils.
