I don't write nearly as wonderfully as Omar, but I must tell you that this image just jumps off the page when I visit your galleries. Beautifully done!

Thanks so much, Carol. I'm really glad that you appreciate the strength of Cassandra and her visionary quality.

She is the epitome of tragedy and romance. The archetypal character of a woman whose prophetic insight is obscured by insanity, cast upon her through the discriminating power of a man dominated society. Cassandra was punished by Apollo because of her tenacious act of resistance, by refusing his sexual advances, she symbolically refute the whole notion of female subjugation by both mundane and divine powers. This rebellion, if put into a modern psychological and political perspective, would perhaps give us the profile of one of the legendary pioneers of the Feminist Movement....so tragedy and romance, prophecy and insanity as you beautifully expressed them in your work is a timeless tribute to a legend whose heart IS......a legend...
Maria Jesus Hernandez replied:
I'm really proud that you take so much interest in my work and invest the time to think and write such great comments, Omar. I really appreciate your visits!

Maria this is fantastic artwork, love your style very much! V/F
Maria Jesus Hernandez replied:
It makes me happy to hear that, Bob Sometimes I don't know whether my images reach others or are able to express my intentions. Here I was thinking of Cassandra, the seer in the Greek myth and her tragical fate, and suddenly that line in Cohen's song came to my mind.
