Description
The rushing water of the Cathedral Creek cascade could be heard long before I turned the corner and there it was. This image was photographed using a strong neutral density filter with the apreture set at f 22. A three-tenths of a second exposure with the camera on a tripod provided enough of a long-exposure time to smooth the water of the cascade while keeping the rest of the image stable. The water appears smooth rather than churning beacuse the camera stretches time into the probability of an occurance, What is photographed in the 0.3 sec is the water in all of the potential probable places it might flow. A longer exposure would yield a different set of probabilities and a different image.

I processed the raw image, shot with a Canon 60D with an 18-55 Canon lens, file using Photomatix Pro 5, filters from Topaz Labs including Detail 3 and DeJPEG 4 as well as some minor tweaking in Photoshop including sCurve adjustments, brightness, saturation and the camera raw filter to produce this HDR image.
