Description
Challenges by Barbara Griffin. Moving day turned out to be a challenge for these small boats towing and guiding this house into a harbour. This scene is reminiscent of resettlement in the 1960's in out-ports of Newfoundland and Labrador. Many times when settlers were forced out of their homes, they took their houses with them to a hopefully new and better place. The moving and the move itself created many challenges for the people affected.

Not only is this an awesome acrylic painting, Barbara, but your description if awesome too! I really would never have guessed that "moving" required actually moving the whole house! Thanks much for sharing, and congrats on a worthy sale an splendid story to accompany the painting!

Thank you for your visit and comment Randy! This was a common sight during forced resettlement in the sixties and the ocean was the cheapest and easiest way to move....and the only way!
