Description
"Dallol Volcanic Crater, Danakil Depression, Ethiopia" By Aidan Moran
aidan-moran.pixels.com
Colourful sulphur and mineral salt formations at Dallol volcanic explosion crater in the Danakil Depression. Dallol has one of the most unearthly sceneries on the planet, due to its acidic hot springs, sulphur, salt, iron oxide, and other minerals, small gas geysers and pools of acid. The Danakil region is the hottest and most remote inhabited place on earth where traders have been travelling for centuries to collect salt from the desert basin. The Danakil Depression is part of the Great Rift Valley System. Ethiopia, East Africa.
