Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Electronic compound-eye, 3D CT image (computed tomography). Close up view of an array of 180 miniature lenses on the surface of a curved polymer base. Each microlens is connected to a silicon photodetector. The entire unit measures one centimetre in diameter and is designed to mimic the structure of an insect's compound eye. It is capable of taking low resolution digital images. Wide-angle compound-lens cameras could in future be used on surveillance equipment, unmanned flying vehicles and medical endoscopes. Built by the Rogers Research Group, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
