Description
Hollywood Legends, is a fantasy wedding of famous movie stars. The setting is in a Newport, Rhode Island, mansion, called "Rosecliff". Images and characters from "Gone with the Wind" are scattered throughout. The romanic, heart shaped staircase, leads to a window with "Tara" Scarlett's plantation, in the background. The scarlet curtains are blowing "with the wind". Scarlett (Vivien Leigh), in the foreground, is dismayed with the marriage of her Rhett (Clark Gable) and Marilyn Monroe. Ashley (Leslie Howard) and Melanie (Olivia de Havilland), from the movie, are guests. The others at the celebration, are W.C. Fields, Pearl Bailey, Cary Grant, Mae West, Jimmy Stewart, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn, John Wayne, Katherine Hepburn, Betty Davis, Shirley Temple and Lucille Ball.
This composition, was extremely challenging for me, but I delighted in all the makings of this magical painting, I hope you enjoy my endeavor - Jan

Your great painting is on a par with the fabulous glamour-world of hollywood! Your paintings can be called "legends" too, v/f!
Jan Law replied:
Alfred, I am so happy that you like this painting. It was painted for a fine art publishing company - and they decided not to publish it. A tremendous amount of work and study for no publication. Thank you! Thank you!
Jane Small
Unbelievable that they didn't publish in the end for whatever reason. This is fabulous in every way. I'm noticing how every person and child has a unique expression and personality as well as the glorious and varied attire.Great positioning of the flamboyant lady in blue to lead into the scene.I want to pick out every aspect, but you don't want an essay!! The whole setting is just magic Jan! v/f
