Description
The everlasting universe of things
Flows through the mind, and rolls its rapid waves,
Now dark - now glittering - now reflecting gloom
Now lending splendour, where from secret springs
The source of human thought its tribute brings
Of waters--with a sound but half its own,
Such as a feeble brook will oft assume,
In the wild woods, among the mountains lone,
Where waterfalls around it leap for ever,
Where woods and winds contend, and a vast river
Over its rocks ceaselessly bursts and raves . . .
Gleams from remote worlds visit the soul in sleep
- Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) Mont Blanc: Line written in the Vale of Chamouni
The Poppy is a symbol of Morpheus . . the Greek God of Dreams . . . .
Enchanted Floral Dreams . .
Poppy symbolism is also associated with the Muladhara chakra.
Poppies come in many colours, but they're typically dressed in red, the chakra colour corresponding to the Muladhara.
This chakra prompts human awareness to be fed from rich, nutritive soils and encourages that nourishment to be pulled from our roots and moved up through the rest of the chakras.
We blossom at our crown only when we can move well-being up through our roots.
In Chinese symbolism, the poppy represents rest, beauty and success.
Honest masters know enlightenment is induced from within and through a connection with the infinite.

Poppies are some of my most loved flowers and they do not grow here naturally and cannot be bought at the florists. I live vicariously through yours. So beautiful and so ethereal. :-) Maggie

Beautiful selective focus and use of light and tones to set off these two pretty poppies, Sharon.
