Description
Sunrise at Horseshoe Bend overlook, near Page, Arizona. The geography is amazing and formation began millions of years ago. The cliff walls are made of Navajo Sandstone. In the process of erosion, the sandstone acted as a natural barrier, forcing the water to make a sharp bend in the river thorough softer rocks.
Horseshoe Bend was carved out by the Colorado River, located near the town of Page, Arizona, United States. It is part of the eastern rim of the Grand Canyon. Horseshoe Bend is located near the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
