A Pacific loon calls to its mate on a cold spring morning.
I am a freelance photographer that has lived in Alaska since 1982 and travelled through out the state and other wonderful areas in the world by foot, boat and aircraft pursuing the endless beauty and variety that exists. I'm primarily a wildlife photographer but also enjoy the challenge of capturing landscapes. All of the animals in my images are wild- I do not take zoo or game farm images.

Excellent capture! Love the way his breath is steaming, and the full throated cry! What a haunting sound they make! The low light lends the perfect mood! FV
Tim Grams replied:
Thanks again Angela! The Pacific loon does not have the haunting call of the common loon, but it was still very exciting to have the bird calling so close to me.
Elise Palmigiani
Congrats Tim, this photo deserves its selection, it's a lovely capture!
Tim Grams replied:
Thanks again Elise. An exhibition of the winning images in this contest will travel around the state this year. It will be interesting to see how many sales I make from that.
