The Guira Cuckoo (Guira guira) is a social, non-parasitic cuckoo. Widely known to reside in open and semi-open habitats of eastern and southern Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, and north-eastern Argentina. It is monotypic within the genus Guira, and is related to the anis.

Wonderful image. To give you some background, I generally do not care much for nature shots, and especially bird shots. But this goes way beyond the ordinary. It is actually a bird "portrait", with a great deal of personality and attitude in your subject, if that's possible. The framing, pose, lighting, texture, selective focus, and grunge edit effect all add to the striking quality of the photo.
