I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Great canvas and framing. A decent shipping time, and EXCEPTIONAL safe packaging. Just an appropriate image for my viewing/listening room. Just took the speaker grills off for this photo.

A dear friend of mine who owns the original piece wrote this story for it: In the ancient time, before man, before even the Wandjina, there was daylight upon the land. And,at the end of the sun's time in the sky, there was night. Darkness enveloped the world, and all the creatures, they took shelter, for there was no way to see. But,then, one night, the moon, younger sister of the Sun, came to be in the sky,and she opened her eye,in search of the light of day,her brother's gift to the world. She opened her eye slightly at first, perhaps frightened at what she would behold. Then, slowly, but confidently, her eye opened completely, and illuminated the land in a new way.The water moved upwards,in tribute to her lovely gaze, the tides were born. The animals could now see,and they made haste, their lives fulfilled during an otherwise dark time. The Koalas, who made their home at that time at the roots of the Ghost gum tree, held fast, underground, uncertain and frightened of this new light at the time which should shine no light. But,the moon,as she gazed upon the earth found that only the Ghost Gum tree, with its white bark, shined like daylight,as if her brother's eye still shined upon the world. This made her happy,as her dear brother the sun, would be eternally at the opposite end of the sky, perhaps never to meet again. This bright tree would always be a reminder of her brother! And the Ghost Gum tree came to realize it's brightness in the dark, and reached out to the beautiful eye of it's benefactor,in order to show his love and give thanks for his luminescence. Reaching out so high as to caress the eye of the moon, from which a single tear of appreciation made it's way down those high milky white branches. The morning dew, with which so many good creatures depend on for sustenance, was born on this beautiful night. The Koalas, they witnessed this interaction, and wished to also show their love and appreciation of this new light in the dark. For the first time, they climbed the Ghost Gum,as far as they could,as close to the moon as they could,to pay tribute, and as a gift, the Gum offered his leaves,as a feast,to which they still partake until this day.

Thank you Rjf! Forgive my delayed response, I'm new to selling here and haven't quite got in the groove of how it all works.
