I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

This 8"x8" painting was created on a wood panel 1.5" deep. The raw wood was lightly stained to accentuate the natural wood grain. The Iris was then painted with acrylic. I then collaged over the painting with handpainted found papers, leaving some areas of the underpainting peeking through. Variegated gold leaf flakes embellish the center of the bloom. The surface is coated with a gloss top coat. The edges of this panel are painted in a bronze metallic and ready for display - no need for framing.
My most recent work draws more inspiration from color and texture than distinct subject matters, and my objective remains to imbue my canvasses with a sense of emotion. Through the intricate texture and vibrant color in my pieces, I aim to create a visceral response in the viewer; my hope is that the viewer may connect with them emotionally rather than through conscious, deliberate effort. In this way, viewers create their own interpretations through this initial connection, and the narrative of the piece becomes secondary. I was born and raised in Southeastern Michigan.
