Description
Yak Andrew Bienstjalk
by Patrick Pierson
Once upon a time, at the birth of an age, just east of the northernmost point on the gauge, there lived a young knave both noble and brave, who went in search of a wizened old mage.
Though the mage was enraged when he heard the boy engage in a tip for a tap with some bogus pointy hat, he calmly acquiesced to the impudent behest when asked to abet him for a wage.
Said the mage to the jack, one whose Christian name was Yak, "Any quest for revenge seldom pays a dividend, yet I simply must attend to the widow round the bend; would you be the son of Beryl and Oleg?"
"'Twas my father who was slaughtered, and his widow, my poor mother; I beseech you to avenge them, use your magic to condemn him; will you help me put my uncle to the blade?"
With the swiftest locomotion 'neath a flurry of commotion did the mage produce a potion, then revealed a furtive notion: "Add this serum to the wine that he drinks at suppertime; he'll confess that it was he who took your father's life from thee, but I warn you son: You mustn't be dismayed."
So the crafty lad undaunted hatched a plan in which he wanted to ensnare the giant, Otto, in a trap that held his downfall, and he called upon a witness, 'twas the constable named Innes who would testify and seal the giant's fate.
