Almost exactly 100 years ago Margaret Sanger, the founder of what is now called Planned Parenthood, began her crusade for reproductive freedom. She believed: A woman has a right to control her body. Everyone should be able to decide when and whether to have a child. Every child should be wanted and loved. Women are as entitled as men to sexual pleasure and fulfillment. In the last 100 years we have made tremendous strides in reproductive freedom for women. But recent attempts have been made to turn back the clock and not only deny a woman’s right to choose, but to restrict access and funding for birth control and reproductive health care. Positive Seattle Fundraiser For Alternative School 1

"Positive Seattle" is a unique school fundraiser, a music festival to benefit Pinehurst K-8 (Alternative School #1). In the style of Folklife and Bumbershoot there will be a variety of live music, arts, crafts, and great food. Two alumni of the school became determined to create a unique fundraiser supporting Pinehurst K-8 in their efforts to restore arts education and create a field trip scholarship fund so that all students can participate regardless of their ability to pay. All proceeds and donations will go to Sir Herbert Read Consortium, the nonprofit organization that is dedicated to provide funding for scholarships as well as other educational needs.
