Inukshuk Collection
My inukshuk collection of stone pendants have been inspired by several trips to Alaska and Canada over past years. These are commonly seen along the highways and inspire much curiosity. Inukshuk is a stone landmark or cairn built by humans, that usually consists of a stack of stones, and is used by the Inuit, Inupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America as a navigation tool in a largely barren area with few landmarks. Not only is it a cultural symbol of the Iniut, but inukshuks are also increasingly serving as a mainstream Canadian national symbol.
