Kazu Nitta graduated from Dokkyo University with a B.A. in economics before coming to the United States and enrolling at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. In the same year he won two prestigious awards presented by The New York Society of Illustrators Scholarship Competition and The Smithsonian Air & Space Museum.
