'My works on canvas are generally figurative with oils being the preferred media. I like the richness and luminious effect that one gets from building layers of paint, however, when I am working on several compositions at one time, or a series of ideas, acrylic paints allows me to quickly translate these thoughts and quickly make the necessary adjustments. Most of my ideas for subject matter for larger works come from my travels, my study of art history, and my interest and ties to 'a southern heritage.' '
