SAN TAN VALLEY - Michael Trujillo, a senior at Florence High School, received a red ribbon for his entry in the third annual Florence Unified School District Art Show, a painting called “Hide and Seek.” (link to painting: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/hide-and-seek-michael-trujillo.html) During a reception and display in the Poston Butte High School library, professional artist Kyle V. Thomas, the show’s guest juror, took some time to explain his judging criteria to Trujillo, who enthusiastically soaked in every word. “It was amazing, because this is what I want to do,” Trujillo said. “For him to come and talk to me and give me criticism, it means more than anything else. “Awards are nice, people’s comments are nice, but you can only get so much from that,” he added. “To get this kind of feedback from a professional is priceless.” Thomas, a former teacher at Copper Basin...
