Tom Migot Photography New Contest The Creative Aperture
Edinburgh, - May 1st, 2012
The Aperture is undoubtedly the main driving factor in most exposures one takes. It is the Exposure Triangle component that defines what is valuable and what is not in the field of view. As we have seen in the recent episode of Capture it with Tom Migot - The Creative Aperture : The Stardom effect (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPlMheBHefg ) the Aperture can also bring some creative gems. While more creative aspects will be covered in future episodes, Tom believes you have already acquired enough knowledge to practice the creative usage of the Aperture. Therefore this contest has one single rule: The Aperture of your exposure must be its driving factor. The result should showcase the creativity of the Aperture. Any exposure failing to do so will be rejected.

Tom Migot Photography New Contest The Creative Shutter
Edinburgh, - March 31st, 2012
The Shutter is not only a component of the Exposure Triangle, used to achieve a correct exposure. It also enables us to play with time to either freeze it or imply motion in our photography. For this contest, the rule is simple: The Shutter needs to be the driving factor in the exposure! In my previous contest 'Nothing but night photography' we had 798 artworks and while the number is amazing I noticed a major drawback: many pieces were never looked at because no one would bother going through the 35 pages. Therefore in this contest I wish to max the number of submission to 1 single artwork per artist. The point of the contest is to share visibility and so I wish all contestants be seen and not only the lucky few that appear on the leading board from on day 1.
