Through my abstract organic artworks I try to encapture the light, harmonious energies, colours and rhythms of nature. My paintings evolve through the process of using textures, paints and Palette knife. Dividing my time between living on a mountain in Spain and by a river at the Norfolk Broads UK. This being the case, luckily I am able to paint the hot Spanish light and the cool Norfolk light respectively. Am always trying to portray an other worldly feeling in my paintings, of the spirit and light shining through the canvas, to reflect the light around and inside the painting. Observing and feeling with my senses the beauty that surrounds us in this amazing world. Picking the colours from the air, always striving to capture that elusive light’
Valerie is a traditionally trained artist who is unafraid to use any medium at her disposal to capture her subject. Also experimenting in Tradigital Art a term she describes as art that combines both traditional and photography/computer-based techniques to produce original fine art. Whatever the medium or technique,she is a great believer in the healing energy of art and creates art from the heART.
