Night-Blooming Cereus
Jim Hunter has pointed out that this plant is properly called Epiphyllum oxypetalum. Apparently it goes by many common names, including Dutchman's pipe, kardable, Queen of the night, etc. See http://gotepis.com/ and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphyllum_oxypetalum. The plant is a rather ugly cactus by day. On rare occasions, it is transformed at night. These photos were taken outdoors between 9:00PM and 4:00AM. Three blossoms opened one night, five the next night, and that was all for that year.
