Entre into Transformational Art

We give our beer mash (grains that are left over from the brewing process) to a local farmer. The grains are an occasional special treat for the livestock and they go crazy over it. While I was painting "Eat My Dust." it's human quality became apparent. I am reminded of friends, friendships and the competitive spirit. On beer mash delivery day, the he bull might just say... Eat My Dust... as the stampede towards the delivery cart begins.

The scene brings a smile to my face. However today I ran into a term that has me in an inquiry. That term is "transformational art". The inquiry I am in is "How can I take the art to a whole new level?" and what exactly is "transformational art"? I take transformation to mean the act of becoming something completely new. As opposed to change, which in human behavior comes from a declaration that something is "wrong", Transformation is created out of pure possibility. Transformation is created out of inspiration.

Coming from the context of transformation, "Eat My Dust" can inspire you to be as focused and unstoppable as my bull headed for the mash. How many times have we gazed upon something we really want and not even tried to strive for it? We've given up before even trying? How many times have we hesitated for a moment only to realize the pause has already cost us the race.

The thought of creating inspirational art appears daunting, a tall order, and nearly impossible. Yet, the possibility inspires me. The road of a thousand steps begins with the first and I take mine today. From now on, when I begin to feel feeble or weary I will remember my friends in "Eat My Dust". Trent told me when he pulled up in the truck to delivery the mash, the cows nearly pushed him out of the way to get at the grain. They even tried to climb in the vehicle! May "Eat My Dust" also inspire you to be unstoppable and as focused as a raging bull in a near stampede.
