Inspiration in an artistic dead zone

I'm often asked how I come up with my ideas and even more so as I live in a community that is a wasteland in terms of cultural and artistic development. In short, there are no museums, no galleries, no art shows not even craft shows. There is nothing. For sure I have a couple of artist friends in the area but we see each other rarely and really don't seem to speak much of art unless we are admiring a new piece. So really, I'm isolated and that's okay. Sure I would love to go to an art opening, a museum (who doesn't appreciate the Met?) but since this isn't an option, I make due.
The internet and places such as Pinterest are fabulous to gain ideas. I've joined a multitude of painting discussion groups and I take the occasional YouTube class. The newest one I'm going to try is drawing from Udemy. I have no idea how good it will be but it serves to get me out of my bubble and think of new ideas.

Another interesting source is FaceBook. Not just the groups but FaceBook knows me. They zoom in with their ads that seem designed specifically for me. How they know me that well I honestly don't know. They don't show me ads for acting or music or other, they seem to know that I like to write and am an artist. They post things like drawing classes or how to write a best seller or suggest I may want to buy art mannequins. Funny thing FaceBook, it pushes me to create more as well.

Lastly of late are the series I am doing. Each series requires research. In the process of research, I also get new ideas. To be completely honest, I have not been that faithful to completing my latest series "A Century in Paint" as I keep coming across other things and then think to myself that would make a great painting or I really want to do that. But that's okay, it keeps the creative juices going. So the series will take longer to complete. So what?! I don't have a deadline.
