MODEL RELEASED. Alli weight-loss drug. This is the tradename for the over-the-counter form of the anti-obesity drug orlistat (tetrahydrolipstatin). In prescription form, it is known as Xenical. It works by preventing the absorption of fat from food. Side-effects include loose, oily faeces. Non-prescription (over-the-counter) use was first approved in 2007 and 2009 in the USA and Europe, though in some areas its use is controversial.
