Artist's Description
This sunflower plant was grown from a seed I planted at a friends house. It grew taller than the house and was a flaming orange color. It had one stalk but several branches at the top with multiple sunflowers growing from them.
About SHER Millis
I was introduced to the art world through my step-father, James D. Coleman a professional landscape artist in San Diego, CA, in 1979. While taking a sabbatical there from my accounting/management profession, Jim set up an easel beside his and taught me his landscape painting and color techniques. He had been painting professionally for so long he only used 2 brushes - the fan and the liner. For the next 15 years I continued with my business profession while developing my art skills as a "hobby" per IRS rules. I eventually painted 89 paintings on a commission basis which are located in 11 states. I relocated with my then husband to Corinth, NY, in 1996. During a life course change in 2005, an opportunity to open my own studio...
