This is an image that is very special to me due to the source of its original creation and how I experienced that. This image was created from another artwork ie photograph of mine on my portfolio called "Window To The Earth's Soul" and I cropped out all the surrounding earthly elements and just left in the puddle or water element with its reflections of the surrounding tree tops, sky and then to add interest and colour, the colourful leaves floating in the water.

I have always loved puddles since my childhood and my imagination, along with my inner child has had lots of fun with all the possibilities that can be seen or imagined through looking at puddles and especially what they reflect. This puddle in particular was created after a lot of heavy rain we had in my area of Sydney Australia. It was created through the laneway that I often walk down being very uneven and not tarred......so effectively plenty of holes, cracks and places to trip over or in if one doesn't watch where one is walking.

This laneway has always inspired me with it's wonderful tall old trees that have grown along either side, effectively created an arch to walk under. The energy I've felt in that place has always been palpable to my senses and I've always felt uplifted in some way through my being able to sense or feel that. Liked it especially when my grandson who was visiting noticed that as well.....so it wasn't just me. Old trees carry the story and history of the area that they grow in as well as that of the earth. They are virtual sentinel beings who help guard over this planet earth we live in and help to keep the balance of life for all creatures including humanity.

So having cropped this image as I did, I felt an inner calling to add words of wisdom, which are also one of my favorite things, with having collected quotes for years. So I flicked through one of my small inspirational books of quotes and meditations and found this. It fitted the image for all kinds of reasons. I added the blue border since I couldn't upload this image on it's own into my Fine Art America gallery without (don't know why). Blue is one of my favorite colors and it's the colour for relaxation and to enhance expansiveness. Blue goes so well with these word on the 'infinite' and this image can help create a calming influence in any room one may wish to add this as a wall hanging or can be good for cards or poster form.

PUDDLES

Waters lay beneath my feet

Reflected world mirrored on the street

Deep, yet shallow, below the sky

Trees and branches from up on high.

All reflected in waters below

Patterns and colours - some still, some flow.

Through all this, like magic displayed,

Limitless images of winter days;

A freedom to feel inner joy that abounds

Of nature�s offerings laying all around.

The simplicity it holds for one to see,

That one�s inner child can ultimately be

As free and alive in the simplest way

Through puddles on the earth

With imagination to play.
