Thanks for the welcome. How can I help? First here is some info I hope will help. The medium of clay that I use is super sculpey it is a type of polymer bakeable clay. Alone it is not as strong as I would like so I mix it with other sculpey products that give it more strength and flexibility. This is good one time or prototype sculptors A good clay to practice with if you are just getting started is a plasticine clay, basically molding clay. There are some real good professional types like sculptor house and Roma And there are many others from hard clays to soft. None sulfur clay is best if you plan to take a mold off of it. I get pretty much all of my supplies from blick art materials on line. Check out these links. http://www.dickblick.com/categories/modelingclays/ http://www.dickblick.com/products/sculpture-house-detailing-tool-set/#photos With this dragon I started out with a wire and foil core to keep it ringed and so the clay is not to thick to bake. And then I squished it all together and using dental tools for shaping and details. You are an excellent artist from what I gather most drawer/painters are very good at sculptor. I think you will find it to come naturally. Do research on the web you will be surprised what you will find.
