Description
Ink illustration of an African penguin.
Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and a brush pen for the darkest areas.
Penguins are aquatic flightless birds, all of who have wings that have adapted into flippers suitable for their marine environment. The African penguin (Spheniscus demesus), also known as black-footed penguin, jackass penguin or Cape penguin is an endangered species of penguin found only in the water of the South Africa coast. The African penguin is very similar in appearance to the Humboldt penguin, with pink patches of skin above the eye, black markings across the face and upper body and a white chest with a black stripe going across the chest with some black spots on the chest also. Their beak is more pointed than the humboldt.
