Ink illustration of a black and white ruffed lemur.
Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and a brush pen for the darkest areas.
The black and white ruffed lemur is a critically endangered species of ruffed lemur, they have soft, thick fur which is always only black and white. Along with the red ruffed lemur they are the largest living lemurs. Active exclusively during the day, they spend most of their time in the high canopy of the rainforest feeding for the most part on fruit.
Lemurs are a primate found only on the Island of Madagascar There is around 100 living species of lemur, most of which are small with big eyes and long tails. According to the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) lemurs are the worlds most endangered mammals.
