It truly looks like a masterpiece. I gave it to my brother for Christmas because we’ve both watched GoT. He’s a teacher so he said he’d hang it up in his room for all of his students to enjoy!! Thank you!!
Artist's Description
No trip to Ireland would be complete without a visit to this 5000-year-old site. Accurately marking the first day of Winter for thousands of years, Newgrange is a marvel and treasure. On the first day of Winter, the roof box allows sun to penetrate the depths illuminating the back walls. Newgrange is a calendar! I believe the carved stones represent swirls in the River Boyne but I do not know this. The Ancients took this secret with them.
About Anne Norskog

Art is in the eye of the beholder. I will not write in the third person here. That sounds pretentious and, most of the time, inaccurate. Being in the last third of my life, it becomes clear good health is the finest gift possible. Again, nature provides the most beautiful inspirations. Walk into your own garden. Stroll a beach or a path in the woods. Watch the sun and clouds or a kitten playing with a piece of string. Pay attention to the faces you see...they each tell their own story. Create something wonderful that has a piece of your own heart on it. The emotions that drive us human beings also drive our art. The viewer is respectfully reminded my works are copyright protected. Please visit me often. Kindest...

I've always wanted to visit Newgrange at Winter Solstice, Anne. Thanks for giving this some attention . . . and for the artwork, of course! :-)

Thank you Wendy! I would love to see it, too!

Hi Donna. This site is very famous. I did not know about the one in Egypt. It is wonderful you have seen so many beautiful things in your travels. Your portfolio is filled with photos that read like a travel book. One cannot help but speculate on the knowledge font of the Ancients.

I did visit Newgrange and thought it was very interesting. I remembered that this was a place that on 2 days of the year that the sun goes inside and lights up the entire interior. That also happens in Abu Simbel in Egypt. I found both to be interesting.
