Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Tundra pond. Tundra is the flat, treeless Arctic region that lies between the polar regions of perpetual snow and ice and the northern limit of tree growth. In the brief, warm summer weather, the surface layer of the permafrost (frozen subsoil) thaws. The surface snows melt, forming freshwater marshes and ponds in the badly-drained soils. These become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, midges and other insects. They are also an important habitat for birds and aquatic wildlife and vegetation.
