Description
3D measurement machine calibration. Probe head of a coordinate measurement machine (CMM) measuring the dimensions of one of the spheres on a ball plate. CMMs are used to make accurate 3D measurements of complex, precision-engineered components. Ball plates are collections of references spheres used to calibrate a CMM. This CMM is manufactured by Zeiss. Photographed at the National Physical Laboratory, in Teddington, UK.
