From early June through Labor Day, Ocean City requires individuals age 12 and up to purchase a beach tag to access its beaches. A one-day pass costs $5, a weekly pass is $10 and a seasonal pass for the full are $25 but if bought before Memorial Day, a seasonal tags is$20.
The pier was bult iin 1913 at the southernmost tip of Ocean City, was a thriving summertime spot for summer visitors. In 1982, the pier was so decrepit that the city closed it down and tore up almost all but the spindly pilings pricking the horizon. Then in 1992 A Noreaster destroyed most of what was left by the city leaving what was in the image. This is 10 months after Super Storm Sandy, the beaches are open but these seven pillars are all that are left. If you want to see the piEr before the storm checkout "Sunset thru the Pier"
