Description
©Gill Billington. All rights reserved. It is the perfect sunny summers day with blue skies for this stunning 1969 Mustang convertible to be out cruising with the top down. This classic American muscle car is parked on the airfield next to a vintage p-51 Mustang plane at a slight angle to show the headlights hood pins and grille. Two icons together!
The p-51 in this photograph is called Miss Helen. She was manufactured in 1944 and delivered to the USAAF (US Army Air Force) in 1945. In World War Two she was in active service with 352nd Fighter Group. They were stationed at RAF Bodney in England and were nicknamed The Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney due to the p-51 having a blue painted nose and upper cowl.
