I agree with Roger's comment, and Min's words really summed it up: angles & harmony--true enough. vf

A Stairway to Heaven!!

Very nice use of angles and shapes....all in harmony. thanks for your encouraging words Kevin

I love the heart of your blues series.

Wonderful work, Kevin! Love the colors in this painting, especially the blue!

I think I like this best of all.. it has a wonderful lilting sense of the music being played.

Hey Amigo, love this piece of love supremecy, well done Kevin.....

You make the arch work. And make the viewer, me anyway, a little on edge! Listen, it's interesting to me how many women you paint versus how few man and HOW you paint men! The men have "soul", depth and do things like play instruments. The women, in my quick analysis which could be totally wrong, are ornamental and beautiful, fun or drowsy. I'm sorta playing around, here. Please don't get serious. But it's also kind true? Hey??? Looking forward to your response on this.

Yeah, I agree with Iris. The composition sets this one. Miro-esque? Calder influenced stabile? Very sculptural at any rate. Risky having that arch come out of the musician's head.

Love this one, interesting composition and color, compelling subject!

Michael’s use of color is so vivid and electric, while containing so much depth. The detail is even better in person. This print is hanging in my office, offering a lovely escape into this cozy winter scene.

Having this print in my possession I can now see why other artists voted this as their favourite, not only is this a brilliant subject but the viewing angle also adds interest to the subject especially the angle of the horse, Daniel Adams captures realistic fur, leather and clothing within this brilliant pencil drawing, which I would assume is hard to do without the use of coloured medium.

Artist's Description

From my "Blues" series, this was done in La Jolla, CA. The title takes it's name from a Langston Hughes poem and the musical composition of John Coltrane who would play this song as a tribute to Hughes work. As with the measures on a scale the work is done in multiples of five. Bricks, banisters, bars all fives.
