Description
A Ross Farm Christmas by Karen Cook - Christmas is coming soon to the Ross Farm Museum! With the centuries old Rosebank Cottage visible in the distance, the living history museum is decked out for the holidays. I loved this spot on the grounds of the museum. With evergreen boughs, red ribbons and pine cones, a bench with a toasty warm blanket invites you and yours to sit down, rest a moment and perhaps capture a family memory with the words Merry Christmas as the title of your own Christmas card.
Ross Farm Museum is a living history or heritage museum, dedicated to showcasing life as it was in 1816 when Captain William Ross and his family as well as 172 disbanded soldiers settled here in New Ross. Rosebank Cottage, the home you see in the background, is the original homestead of the Ross family.
In 1970, the property was transferred from the Ross Family to the province of Nova Scotia.
Open all year round, the farm is a popular attraction for school children and adults alike, and is considered part of the Nova Scotia Museum
