Description
TITLE: Raven's Roost
Log cabin photo, of a rustic abandoned cabin with three crooked doorways leading to a scenic mountain view. But wait. I think a raven has decided to move in! This photograph is a perfect way to add a touch of rustic charm to your home, office, or bedroom decor. Independence, Colorado

Fantastic composition! Love the doorways the viewer can travel through to get to a black bird and bright field behind and then, the glorious textures and colors of the trees, mountains and sky in the background! Almost seems that the log cabin is bowing down under the weight of holding those mountains up! vf

What a delight to notice the raven in the doorway. This is quite and unusual composition and subject. I like the way that you did it very much. f/v

Everything came together on this one Julie! Great stuff! I have a similar composition from an abandoned home but you have the cool cockeyed doors, wood grain, and of course the raven at the end! http://brian-wallace.artistwebsites.com/featured/when-one-door-closes-brian-wallace.html

Hi Julie, I love how the door and window draw the viewer towards the beauty of Colorado but I also think the crooked door is a metaphor for the crooked history of Colorado!

So much depth and dimension in this comp! The layers of light, texture and color and the framing of the opening within an opening is awesome. Then there is the visitor....!
Julie Magers Soulen replied:
Thanks Gary! It was fun working on this one. It does have a lot going on!
