Being that I was stationed in Thailand and worked on these planes I have a special feelings for this case. The picture is great and well laid out. The case is rugged and attractive and it fits my phone super well. Thank you Peter Chilelli and Fine Art America.

3 weeks to deliver is way to long. I will be finding a different website to order from in the future. As for the case it self, it looks really good

Artist's Description

Early in World War 2, the only way the Allies could take the fight directly to the German homeland was through strategic bombing. Stationed throughout bases in England, British and American bombers launched raids around the clock with the British bombing at night and the American 8th Air Force carrying out raids during the day. Along with the B-24 Liberator, the B-17 Flying Fortress was a mainstay of the 8th Air Force. The B-17 had a reputation for ruggedness - able to absorb tremendous battle damage and bring her ten man crew safely home. Nevertheless, German defense was determined and many bombers and crews were lost in high altitude battles over Germany. Our print is a tribute to the "Bomberboys" and the "Queen of the Skies", the B-17 depicting a B-17 Flying Fortress returning home with battle damage after a harrowing mission over Germany. Fortunately she has picked up an escort of P-47 Thunderbolts to bring her home.

There is something about a purpose of design and the engineering solution to achieve that purpose that always created a spark in my mind. The forms those machines took were captivating to me - the pointed nose of a fighter jet; the exposed driving wheels of a mighty steam engine, the streamlined shape of a submarine. And the stories of the incredible experiences of the men who operated those machines are the stuff of legends and sometimes nightmares. From an early age I tried to express my fascination through drawing. I suppose my first...
