I did not recieve this yoga mat that I orderd.
The Alaska Highway was constructed during World War II for the purpose of connecting the contiguous United States to Alaska through Canada. The first time I traveled the highway was in 1969. (I wasn't very old then, okay?) I remember many family vacations along the Alaska Highway, or Alcan -- short for Alaska-Canadian Highway. In the early days, it was largely gravel and mud. Today it is paved. The northern end is constantly under construction. Frost heaves and other northern hazards continually damage the highway, as well as the heavy traffic. Freight traveling overland to Alaska all traverses the northern end of this highway. No matter the time of day -- or year -- you can expect to meet other vehicles.
I am a long-time Alaskan, having lived here since 1970. I am retired from state service, after working for the Alaska Department of Corrections for twenty years. In my spare time, I take pictures. I have enjoyed photography since junior high, and I have an extensive photo library. I am working to turn my pictures into an income source to supplement my retirement. My photos include landscapes, nature photos, and abstracts. I have a particular fondness for shooting abandoned places or objects. Subjects range from Southeast Alaska to Interior Alaska, and the stretch of Canada in between. I retain the rights to all images I have posted here.
