The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. I drive by this beautiful horse-farm every so often and get a few new snaps. This particular one was taken July 15, 2012, Montgomery County, Maryland, with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens, shutter 1/1250, aperture f/8. Much tinkering in many programs including Photoshop CS4, Photomatix, Capture NX2 and Adobe Bridge. My thanks to Leslie Nicole for the lovely texture.

I treated this particular image to a lot of photoshop edits and yes, there was some digital hand-painting involved, but I think what you're seeing and asking about is actually the product of one of the textures I used.
