This red rock came from the Cathedral Vortex in Sedona Arizona.
A vortex is described as a whirling mass of electrometric energy. The iron rich
red rock formations that surround Sedona combines to create natural focal points
of energy released from the earth

The Angel came to me in a vision. I was living in an RV
with my partner photographer Joe Hoover.
We were camping in the forest on various vortexes.
I would walk the trails and the creek looking for the perfect
shaped rock. I would paint them and Joe would sell them to the
local shops for the tourist. I always thought that they were
very spiritual.

I create art with emotional and spiritual meaning by painting the things that most connect me to the world. My subject matter, primarily the earth and man's mark upon it, are my way of sharing the incredible beauty of our planet and how we relate to it. My work is rooted in myth and symbolism to touch each viewer individually. Many times I paint purely on an intuitive level, without the forethought of telling a story. It is always much later, after living with the work, that the meanings become clear. The creative development for my paintings seems to stem from experiences I am having at the time.
