This piece is very true to it's picture very defined. The cup itself is of fine quality as well. The story behind it was beautiful to read. When I look at it, it will take me back to the first time that I saw and read the story. Glad I took the time to purchase. No regrets!

Amazing Beautiful
Adoration of the Shepherds by Nicolas Poussin was the inspiration for Ms Simons' Angelika. This oil painting was created for a heavenly friend of the artist, whom moved from Germany to America when she was 11 years old. Her name in German is Angelika which in English means "Angel". The charmed faces of these babies are from reference of Linda's own baby. Displayed behind the sweet winged babies is a phrase "God Watches Over Us (or me)" in the German language. Ms. Simon's friend Angelika, carries this saying with her in the form of a charm at all times for guidance and solitude. These carefree cherubs will send you in the right direction, watch over and sprinkle you with entertainment!

Art played a big role for Ms. Simon very early on in her life. Linda made use to all that was offered in High School, she took Mechanical drawing, a two year trade school commercial art program, and almost triple majored in Art. Her artist influences include Norman Rockwell, Edgar Degas, Renoir and Nicolas Poussin's "Adoration of the Shepherds". Linda has quality, Contemporary Fine Art based on the enduring aesthetic principles of the old masters, using faces of her family, pets, and dear friends holding hints of Linda's life. Ms. Simon works predominately in non-traditional oils(non-toxic), incorporating pure pigments in her glazing, she also is accomplished in paper maché, clay, charcoal, color pencil, scratch board, pastels, ceramics,...
