Description
Joe Barsin illustrated this poster for the first Annapolis Film Festival in 2013. “Annapolis is located on the shores of the beautiful Chesapeake Bay near the Bay Bridge. The city is the state capital of Maryland and is famous for its active sailing culture. My goal with the illustration was to link Annapolis with Hollywood and the long history of film festivals. I portray a Golden Age of Hollywood’s Starlet, a.k.a Marilyn Monroe, announcing the festival’s theme, ‘Talk Movie to Me!'. Her pose is an homage to the great Soviet Constructivist poster designer, Rodchenko, of the 1930’s. I hope you enjoy the work." Sincerely, Joe Barsin
