Description
An apple tree in full bloom~ I could almost smell the springtime as I painted this. It was fun to paint the foreground in full detail and then make the background blossoms recede by using darker colors and less detail. To finish the painting, I added the dusky blue sky, darker on top of the picture and lighter on the bottom where the horizon would be. The inspiration for this painting was based on photo by Steve Borzcik, taken in Boulder, Colorado.

I love this work with the apple blossoms. Only a master watercolor artist could paint the darker background without it looking muddy and then to pop out the white and slightly lavender blossoms is pure joy! Thanks for sharing your special talent!
