These aspen trees are bent over by the snow when young and maintained their strange shapes as they aged. This is the only prismacolor pencil fine art drawing done on my 2003 watercolor painting trip. Done near the end of my 3 week trip at a high elevation at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, I hung out at my campsite for 3 hours doing this drawing in great detail and heating my coffee before going to the canyon rim and paint. The North Rim is more natural and less populated and commercial than the heavily trafficked south rim.
