Dogon country : Auguine
About Huib Blom
Author of "Dogon images & traditions", a photo book on Dogon culture. The photos presented were taken over a period of some 25 years. The text is bilingual (English/French) and is based on the many ethnographic studies that have been conducted in Dogon country (Mali). The idea is to place a selection of photos in their cultural and historical context. Chapters are illustrated with photos taken in situ and with photos of sculptures that belong to public and private collections. The book is to serve as a didactic and visual tool for explaining the evolution of Dogon culture through time. All photos are printed in B&W 4C process. An excerpt of the book can be seen in the form of a “flipbook” on www.dogon-lobi.ch.
