An early Autumn view of A.Y.Jackson Lake in Killarney Provincial Park in northern Ontario. In the 1920's, several artists who later founded Canada's famous "Group of Seven", explored, painted and sketched the La Cloche Mountain Range and the northern Georgian Bay landscapes. A.Y. Jackson, who subsequently became a prominent member of the Group of Seven, led efforts to petition the government to ban logging aound what was then known as Trout Lake. The Lake's name was later changed in honor of Mr. Jackson.
Phill Doherty is a Southern Ontario-based landscape and wildlife photographer. His online galleries feature an extensive selection of images captured in both Canada and the U.S. He is particularly fond of the Lowcountry area of South Carolina where he has been a regular visitor for over 30 years. Phill is a retired Canadian CPA by background. While he continues to maintain several corporate advisory activities, his primary passion for the last 30 plus years has been his photography. Largely self-taught, and a Canon camera equipment user for many years, until very recently when he transitioned all his photography equipment to Olympus camera bodies and lenses.
